High angling

On Wednesday we had our annual high angle rescue familiarization. This is a basic introduction for our student team members.

Unity students in the Conservation Law Enforcement, Parks, Recreation, and Ecotourism, or Adventure Education Leadership majors may or may not go on to serve on teams and for agencies or other employers who practice roped rescue. Not all our target student employers do evac and rescue, but some do. Historically one or more most years go to the NPS as backcountry rangers and are given the NPS roped rescue course. Students may also go to work for Outward Bound or similar non-profit or for-profit outdoor organizations.

In most cases, they need a little rescue. They don't get taught everything they need to know in just one day, but they will be familiar with the environment and can help out on a real scenario.

We took a lot of photos, some of which I will upload so students can see them.
