UCSAR service is open to all students attending Unity College, and is particularly associated with our Conservation Law Enforcement degree major, a four year bachelor's degree program that provides liberal education with professional preparation for service as a game warden, conservation officer, or park ranger. Students in the Parks, Recreation, and Ecotourism, and Adventure Education Leadership programs, also benefit greatly from membership, training, and call-out experience.
The CLE degree program faculty are Timothy Peabody, MS, and Carol Blasi, JD. Mick Womersley is the faculty mentor of the SAR team and a trainer in the CLE program.
I'm a sustainability academic with degrees in biology, resource conservation and environmental policy. I work in analysis of renewable energy and energy policy in general, in climate mitigation, and in local renewable energy planning.
This blog is intended to be apolitical, but not necesarily "politically correct." I will remove posts that I find, or that other contributors find, to be offensive or not usefully germane to SAR and Mountain Rescue. Thank you, Blogmeister Mick.
